The issues of humanity and religion have been intertwined since the early births of religion itself. Religion has shaped and influenced the whole structures and aspects of human life. Religion as most people believe, is nothing but the humanity itself. The entire life of human beings is frequently depending upon and attached to the existence of religion. In reverse, some scholars may doubt the possible relation between religion and science. Religion in some cases is treated as something alien to science, and therefore both are firmly established as two different entities. Recent advancement, however, showed a tendency to tie the knot of these two allegedly different disciplines.
This International Conference is particularly aimed at providing spaces for all scholars, researchers and practitioners from various parts of the world, who are interested in the discourse of religion, science and humanity. It is hoped that their active participation will be a great opportunity to present and exchange their ideas, findings, and experiences on the current and actual issues of religion, science and humanity and will positively contribute in minimizing, if not elevating, the gap between the ‘sacred’ religion and the ‘profane’ others.
This international conference is jointly organized by Faculty of Ushuluddin, Philosophy and Politics, and Institute for Research and Community Outreach of Alauddin State Islamic University and will be held on 19-21 November 2018.
